Free air and they let me borrow their tire pressure gauge. Staff seemed to be friendly and helpful with all customers. Minutes one star because the gas is so much more expensive than [unnamed] (but same price as most Hilo stations).

I know very little about cars and drive an old BMW convertible. We haven’t lived in Hilo very long so don’t have a mechanic yet, but as of today we do now! I was on my way into town when a couple of my β€œlow tire” indicators came on. My car is so old that many of the sensors give false readings, so after checking visually to no avail, I stopped at Texaco on Kinoole Street in Hilo where I was assisted by Jasmine. She was amazing, and because of her friendly and knowledgeable service I will always stop here first for any automotive work, minor or major. I interacted only briefly with the other (seemed to be male) staff, and they were also friendly & helpful. Right away I knew I was going to like it here when I saw they employed a female mechanic. Way too few of them out there. I told Jasmine I would like to learn, and I knew what a tire gauge was but not how to use it properly. She showed me where to find the correct pressure on the car door interior. Then she demonstrated checking the pressure and explained what she was doing, then gave it to me to do myself. The same for adding air. Now I know this was just checking/adding air, but the next time it happens I can have a ti

Keith is an absolute legend of a mechanic. He’s the most trust worthy mechanic you’ll find in Hilo. You’ll save hundreds and get quality service and advice. The other workers are also super friendly

Great service. I have stopped here multiple times to get tires repaired. This morning, I noticed my tire was going flat and I pulled in and they had my tire plugged and I was back on the road in 10 minutes! I will definitely be coming back again and again.
